Overview
Kansas City roots. Global infrastructure impact.
Black & Veatch has called the Kansas City region home since 1915. From our headquarters in Overland Park, we have grown into a global leader in designing and building critical infrastructure that supports how people live, work and thrive.
While our work spans more than 100 countries, Kansas City remains where our vision and culture are shaped, where many of our people are invested and where our impact is deeply visible.
new World Headquarters
Coming soon: Black & Veatch’s new World Headquarters
Black & Veatch is building a new World Headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas.
Designed to support our next chapter of growth, our new World Headquarters will create a modern, collaborative environment for employee-owners, strengthen our ability to attract top talent, welcome clients and community members and enhance how we deliver human critical infrastructure solutions around the world.
Anchoring a broader mixed-use development, our new World Headquarters will help advance Overland Park’s vision for a more connected, vibrant and walkable College and Metcalf corridor. Future phases are envisioned to include residential, hospitality, food and retail offerings that support economic development and bring sustained activity to the district.

Our history is here. Our future is, too.
Designed around how Black & Veatch employee-owners work best, our new World Headquarters will provide a dynamic destination where teams and clients can collaborate and deliver solutions for the world's human critical infrastructure. Key elements of the project include:
A nine-story building with capacity to substantially grow its local employee-owner workforce
Open, collaborative workspaces and employee-owner amenities including wellness and mothers rooms, a fitness facility, outdoor terraces, food and beverage offerings, and an on-site daycare
Exterior green spaces designed to support employee-owner wellbeing and create an engaging campus environment that complements the mixed-use development
A new parking garage with a weather-protected skywalk connection to the building
Sustainable design and building performance aligned with the company’s focus on sustainability
As we continue to grow, our new World Headquarters represents an investment in the next chapter of our company, creating a destination designed to inspire, connect and empower our employee-owners, strengthen collaboration and innovation with our clients, attract and develop world-class talent and welcome our community. We are proud to continue and strengthen our longstanding presence in Overland Park and the greater Kansas City area and grateful for the partnerships that have helped bring our vision to life.”

Projects and impact in the region
Our work in and around Kansas City reflects the same approach we bring globally — solving complex challenges across power, water and infrastructure systems.
This work connects directly to a broader global impact, with thousands of active projects delivering infrastructure communities rely on every day.

Committed to Kansas City communities
Our commitment goes beyond infrastructure. It is reflected in how we support the communities where we live and work.
Black & Veatch and our employee-owners invest time, resources and expertise to support long-term community impact — through partnerships, volunteerism and sustained investment.
That includes a decades-long relationship with United Way. For more than 35 years, we have contributed nearly $30 million, helping strengthen programs that support education, health and financial stability in Kansas City and beyond.
But the impact is not just measured in dollars. It is seen in how we show up — supporting organizations, building partnerships and investing in people.
One example is our work with Operation Breakthrough. Through this partnership, we are helping expand access to STEM education and create new opportunities for children and families across Kansas City.
Our work is personal: power for homes, water for cities, data for connections, and environmental solutions for ecosystems so businesses and communities can thrive."
