Black & Veatch is the topline Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor for a major Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) project in the Philippines. The facility will provide clean, reliable, and affordable baseload electricity, complementing the nation’s increasing deployment of renewable energy and serving as an important cornerstone to enable the country’s energy transition.

The new greenfield 3 x 425-megawatt (MW) net H-class CCPP, which includes an associated substation, will be Philippines’ first LNG-to-power project. Black & Veatch is involved in the construction of three blocks of one-on-one configuration of SGT6-8000H units and the site is adjacent to new LNG terminal infrastructures.

Currently under commissioning, a strong quality and safety culture pervades across the teams on site, which at peak construction totaled more than 4,000 people. More than 17-million-man hours of work has been completed without recording a lost time incident underlining the importance of safety on the project.

The project demonstrates Black & Veatch’s ability to successfully deliver large scale and complex infrastructure, mobilizing high quality teams in any location across the southeast Asia region.
