2024 Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR)
We teamed up with RTI International, a leading independent research institute, to provide technical and commercialization support to startups developing technologies in Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Removal (CDR) and Direct Air Capture (DAC). The program was recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management (FECM) with a Direct Air Capture (DAC) Pre-Commercial Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Prize.
Cohort Included:
Aeon Blue uses seawater and renewable energy to make a drop-in replacement for fossil fuel while capturing and storing CO2 from air.
Ebb Carbon is pioneering a new marine carbon dioxide removal solution by enhancing the ocean’s natural ability to safely store CO2 with an electrochemical technology.
Rhoic is developing electrospun nanomaterials – exploring their use in CO2 removal and ability to process huge amounts of air quickly, with minimal energy, and at low costs.
Heimdal builds machines that use mineral sorbents to permanently capture and store atmospheric CO2.
Holocene is a DAC technology developer and CDR service provider building liquid-based, continuous and low-temperature systems.
Parallel Carbon uses renewable power with integrated DAC and water electrolysis processes to reduce costs and maximize value.
2023 Climate Tech
We finished the program with a showcase intended to be a catalyst for change in worldwide decarbonization solutions. The one-day summit brought together some of the brightest minds in climate tech including our program cohort, industry professionals, investors and thought leaders. It was designed to maximize opportunities for all stakeholders, offering a platform for dialogue, collaboration and actionable insights. The program was recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE’s) Office of Technology Transitions (OTT) with Energy Program for Innovation Clusters (EPIC) Round 2 Prizes

Cohort Included:
EarthEn enables grid resiliency with flexible renewable energy storage solutions and AI. Their novel thermo-mechanical solutions use CO2 in a closed loop to store energy in a cost-effective and highly scalable manner.
CarbonQuest is elevating standard carbon capture and sequestration solutions for commercial and residential buildings. Through their cost-effective modular technology, they deliver a widely accessible emission reduction solution.
Mars Materials aims to reverse humanity’s industrial waste carbon footprint. They replace petroleum as a feedstock through their process to sequester CO2 into everyday products such as carbon fiber and wastewater treatment chemicals.
Strive is a sustainable nutrition company making things simpler, healthier, and better for the planet. Using precision fermentation, they create protein-enriched, animal-free milk and other beverages that are better-tasting and more nutritious.
Looq automates the creation of digital twins by capturing the complex physical world in detailed and intelligent 3D models. Their proprietary AI technology optimizes survey and inspection workflows to build and operate our society’s critical infrastructure.
Simerse enhances GIS, asset inventory, and condition monitoring through visual data AI for utilities, telecommunications, and cities. They collect visual data from mobile phones, drones and utility vehicles and send key information back to your GIS platform.
Spira uses algae to replace harmful petrochemicals and reinvent the basic materials we use every day. They create carbon negative materials from genetically engineered algae to produce ingredients for food, cosmetic and textile companies.
