Camp Pike
Little Rock, AR
Our company’s relationship with the U.S. Armed Forces dates back to 1917. As the country’s troops prepared to enter World War I, new military training camps had to be built fast. Though only two years old, Black & Veatch won the opportunity to erect camps and cantonments to prepare the nation’s Army for battle.
BSL-3 Lab
Odessa, Ukraine
At Black & Veatch, making the world safer is what we do. We designed and built Ukraine’s first Biological Safety Level 3 (BSL-3) lab in Odessa. The state-of-the-art facility enhances the government’s existing disease surveillance systems to detect, report and respond to bioterrorism attacks, epidemics and potential pandemics.
National Vulcanized Fibre
Yorklyn, DE
Sometimes our work calls for cleaning up environmental hazards so communities and the surrounding nature can flourish once again. That’s what we did in partnering with the State of Delaware to reverse the damage done to the soil and groundwater by an old fiber manufacturer. Today, the grounds and waterways of the old National Vulcanized Fibre are a haven for wildlife and nature watchers.

Adjusting to civilian life can be challenging, not just for veterans and active service members but their families as well. That’s why we started MERGE.
MERGE (Military Employee Resource Group Engagement) supports Black & Veatch military professionals, veterans and their families. It also works to expand the company’s involvement within the local military and veteran community.
“When I think about the skills that I obtained during my time in the Army to my civilian career here today, first and foremost, leadership stands out the most. I had been blessed to have great leaders in my military career who taught me to not shy away from challenges, develop plans to execute the mission, and communicate the plan to the team.”
