Continued global emphasis on clean air and reducing emissions associated with electricity generation is leading many facility operators in sub-Saharan Africa to consider air quality control system retrofit projects. Overcoming Project Management Challenges. Power utilities require the professional experience and skills needed to support the push for large infrastructure projects in sub-Saharan Africa. Defining appropriately structured programs, based on best practices for executing design and construction of new power facilities, poses additional challenges. A Wind Powered Africa. Independent power producers must address diverse challenges to successfully develop and bring wind energy projects to market. Success is best achieved with a holistic approach, with particular focus on executing projects with life cycle performance and cost in mind. Rapid population growth, economic development and electric power shortages require the development and implementation of large capacity building power projects in Africa. Moreover, world-class execution methodologies and experienced execution resources are needed for successful project implementation. Well-developed and supported Skills and Knowledge Transfer (SKT) programs play a vital role in large project execution and equipping local workers for long-term success.
